Workshop classes take place every Saturday afternoon at Gayton Library, 5 St Johns Road, Town Centre, Harrow, HA1 2EE. Every student has a programme that is built just for them. They concentrate on coming to grips with topics that they are covering in school whilst also working on a parallel thread that is put together to fill any gaps that may exist in their core skills. Student use hands on resources to increase enjoyment and enhance learning. All staff are appropriately qualified and hold relevant clearances - most importantly they love to teach! Students get to learn in a structured yet fun and nurturing environment! ENGLISH - MagiKats English is a fully comprehensive English programme, with schemes of work linked to the UK National Curriculum and National Literacy Strategy. The English programme can be divided broadly into the following categories: Word structure, spelling and vocabulary, comprehension, speaking, listening and oral response, reading, understanding and responding to texts, sentence structure and punctuation, creating and shaping texts, creative writing, language & presentation. MATHS - MagiKats Mathematics is linked to the UK National Curriculum and Numeracy Strategy. Some examples of topics covered: Using & applying mathematics, understanding numbers, the number system, knowing & using number facts, shape, time, measurement, area/perimeter, calculations, measures & shape, handling data, algebra & problem solving. * The MagiKats programme supports the UK National Curriculum. * KidiKats Programme for ages 4 - 5 (combined Numeracy and Literacy programme) * MagiKats weekly workshops provide an instant boost! * Students use a variety of hands-on resources to enhance their understanding.
